Barbara Ann Douglas DrainBarbara Ann Douglas Drain, age 69, of Church Hill, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol.

Born in Sullivan County, Barbara had been a resident of Hawkins County for the past 37 years. Barbara loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and very faithfully attended and loved her church. She loved singing alone in the church as well as singing in the choir.

The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Holston Valley’s ICU, and especially to the kind and Christian treatment and understanding from the nurses and doctors at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Haskel and Louise Morgan Douglas; and a son, Larry Doran.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 37 years, Hubert Drain of Church Hill; duaghters, Yvonne Doran-Gamble of Church Hill and Roxanne Ross and husband Mike of Orange Park, Florida; son, Kelly Doran of Kingsport; sisters, Betty Darnell and husband Jack of Kingsport and Wanda Estes and husband Jackie of Church Hill; brother, Tommy Douglas and wife Darlene of Kingsport; ten grandchildren; one step-brother, Johnnie Jones and wife Edna of Church Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Tri-Cities Funeral Home @ Church Hill Memory Gardens, 208 Lane St., Church Hill, Tennessee. Funeral services will follow at 8pm in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Cassidy officiating. Burial with graveside services will be conducted at 11am, Friday, February 10, 2012 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mike Fansler, David Fuchs, Ben Bright, Chris Robinson, Richard Gamble, Jackie Estes, Roger Johnston and Ted Ball. Honorary pallbearers will be the Great Ladies of Upper Room Fellowship Church of Church Hill, the Sunday School Class (of which Barbara was a member) and the Upper Room Men’s Sunday School Class.

I am sorry I cannot make the funeral home but Charlie lives with me now and has for sometime and he is under the weather and I don’t leave him when he is sick.
